Reading Gets You Places offers a third fourth and fifth grade comprehensive literacy curriculum utilizing a hierarchy of reading strategies while exploring thematic historical units. Extensive research has been put into this program to ensure that it meets grade-level requirements and that all current techniques are implemented. 

The curriculum is based on a hierarchy of reading comprehension skills, beginning with metacognition and culminating with synthesis. Each strategy is introduced with modeling, and control is gradually released to the students as they master each skill. The reading curriculum garners high interest from the students as it works through units that are informative and fascinating.

This program assists students in gaining high-level critical thinking skills, in conjunction with historical background and context.
